Minibus Training

The legislation relating to the driver licence requirements for the driving of minibuses is somewhat complicated and all too easy to contravene. Schools, colleges, universities and other voluntary organisations are the main users of minibuses up to 16 seats plus a driver. These vehicles can be driven on a normal car licence under certain circumstances.

instructors carry out an assessment of each driver. This includes driving licence, vehicle and eyesight checks followed by an on-road driving session. If a person's driving is found not to be of a satisfactory standard further training will be recommended. A written report is completed at the end of the session for inclusion in each driver's training record. Drivers can be trained to pass the Driving Standards Agency Category D1 Minibus driving test.
