view is that motorway driver training is essential. It is inherently unsafe for a novice driver to go out onto the fastest, and sometimes most crowded roads in the UK, in some cases without even having driven on a dual carriageway. We recommend to every pupil that when they have passed their learner driver test they should have further tuition on a motorway. This training is also available to drivers who have some experience but still avoid motorways.
